For mine I opted to go with ‘False Maria’, the sexiest robot in cinematic history, who I had been besotted with ever since I saw her gracing the cover of Be Bop Deluxe’s Live in the Air Age album. I think you’ll agree that Heath, sole owner and proprietor of Something Wicked… did a splendid job.
My mate Malcolm from Sheffield certainly thought so and on the strength of it commissioned him to do this rendering of H R Giger’s The Birth Machine which is equally impressive. I have an uncomfortable feeling that it might even be better!
While we’re on the subject of mid-life crises, I have decided - and at long last - to see about getting my motorbike test passed. Principally because I want one of these. Last weekend, when I mentioned this to Malcolm (a former Ducati rider who is seriously considering buying another), I was given a hectoring lecture about how I could get something a hell of a lot faster and more manoeuvrable for the price I’d pay for a Harley Davidson Sportster 883. But then I’m not really that bothered about doing 180 miles an hour down the Lincoln bypass. All I care about is cruising along and, more importantly, the pose factor.
And yes, I’m perfectly well aware that it’s a desperate attempt at a penis extension and that I’ve convinced myself it will make me irresistible to a certain kind of free-spirited woman with a voracious sexual appetite.
